We are currently recruiting for an Eligibility Technician IV in the Juneau District Office.

The Division of Medical Assistance is pleased to announce the online availability of the Medical Assistance Eligibility Manual for Medicaid and Denali KidCare through Change #25.

The entire Medical Assistance manual has been converted to PDF. The deployment of the manual consists of one copy of the entire manual, a large document that may be slow to load in some offices. There are separate links to Parts A, B, C, D, and E. Linking of section references is a work in progress.

My sincere thanks to everyone who worked through the trying weather conditions last week. As Alaskans, we are certainly no strangers to adverse weather. However, the unseasonably heavy snowfall in Juneau and the destructively high winds in Anchorage and Mat-Su posed particular challenges to our staff.

I appreciate the extra effort by everyone who braved snow and high wind to report to work. Your efforts kept our operations running and our clients served.

Although this week has been challenging due to fierce weather in Anchorage, Mat-Su and Juneau, we have been busy explaining the reorganization to the Legislature and other interested parties.

I want to begin this update by expressing my thanks to all Department staff members for their focused attention on the DHSS reorganization announced earlier this week. This is a major event for what will be a department of over 3,200 staff members after all of the transitions are completed over the course of the next 2 years. Your continued focus on this transition will ensure that we stay on target to better serve Alaskans with the best quality health and social services possible.
