Today the Division of Public Assistance was recognized for its outstanding achievements in attaining the highest accuracy rate in the nation in determining food stamp benefit payments for Alaskans.
The division's hard work was reflected in a SNAP bonus award that the Division received from Allen Ng, the Regional Administrator for the Western Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Alaska received a bonus payment of over $562,000 for its stellar performance. Commissioner Bill Streur was on hand to present a letter to DPA director Ron Kreher recognizing the hard work of DPA staff.
