Position Description - The Division of Public Assistance is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the Eligibility Technician I position in the Bethel Office.
This position determines eligibility and authorizes benefits for individuals who need assistance as offered by such programs as Alaska Temporary Assistance, Food Stamps, Medicaid, General Relief Assistance, Chronic and Acute Medical Assistance, and various subprograms.

Position Description - This position provides in-person customer service, assists customers with application and program information, makes appropriate referral and appointments, and assesses customers' need for services. This position also determines eligibility for Expedite Food Stamps, General Relief, and Chronic and Acute Medical Assistance. The Administrative Clerk III conducts and documents interviews and maintains data through the use of various personal computer programs and the Eligibility Information System. The incumbent will provide receptionist duties, including screening and routing telephone calls to appropriate individuals and processing incoming and outgoing mail. This is a position that requires excellent people skills with the ability to deal with customers in challenging or stressful situations.
