We are pleased to announce that the “new and improved” online Food Stamp Manual is now available on the DPAweb at http://dpaweb.hss.state.ak.us/manuals/fs/fsp.htm
Like the previous HTML version of the Food Stamp Manual, this new online manual is interactive and user-friendly. A search function, cross-referencing, and hyperlinks will help you find what you are looking for. Special features allow you to print and email manual sections and add them to your Favorites. Enhancements made to the manual include an updated index and glossary sections. Transmittals now replace the manual change cover memos. Although they have a new look and numbering format, the transmittals will continue to provide a brief summary of the changes and clarifications we include in each update.
This online manual retains the same familiar organization and contains the same policies found in previous versions. There are no new policies or procedures included in this new edition, although there are a few minor changes and updates.
The PDF and previous HTML versions of the Food Stamp Manual have been removed from the DPAweb. Like the other online manuals introduced in January, updates to this Food Stamp Manual will no longer be printed and distributed. When changes are made, we will announce them by broadcast and include an electronic file of the sections that have been changed. An electronic file of each manual will be provided to managers. These files can be used to print a copy of each manual for the office for reference if needed. New files will be sent each time a manual change is made.
An online tutorial is available to assist you in navigating the manuals and using the new features. The “On-line Manuals Tutorial” is available on the DPAWeb under “Quicklinks”. In order to view the entire tutorial screen, you may need to close your “Favorites.”
