New DPA Stars

Congratulations to three bright stars that shine at their work, and win our glowing admiration. These luminaries do light up our working days. Thank you for your great work and many contributions to the Division of Public Assistance.

-- Jim Dalman, Acting Director

We have a special recognition going out to one of our most treasured stars. This one-of-a-kind Superstar has been a central and critical figure in the Juneau Regional office for over 23 years and sadly will be leaving us August 11th to shift her focus to well-deserved time devoted to travel, golf, gardening, and the spoiling of her grandkids. Over the years, this miracle worker has trained more directors, special assistants and policy staff than she has had in years of service. And seems to enjoy breaking in new special assistants with assignments written in Serbo-Croatian... She is known for taking care of things before you notice they need to be done. She works her magic in cutting through red tape - give her an impossible task: personnel issues, payroll, travel, who’s where, emergency meetings, special events, just about anything. A task you may have been working on for weeks and presto the issue is solved. When nothing else will work - everyone knew all you had to do was call this DPAStar. She is efficient, intuitive, warm, friendly, cheerful, and upbeat. And she has always been there for everyone with a quick (and correct) answer. This amazing star is one of those unique individuals that isn't just a loyal friend for a reason or a season but for a life time. DPA is truly going to miss this beloved gem. Join us in saying good-bye and best wishes to one of the best of the best: DPA Star

Our next DPAStar is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and has demonstrates his love for others on a consistent and daily basis - for well over 20 years. He has a heart as big as our great state and is simply cherished by his co-workers. This superstar with his heart of gold has made it a personal mission to welcome every new member of our Central Region DPA Team, showing them the ropes, making them feel more at ease with the new job and surroundings. He supports those around him - with a persistent friendly smile, pat on the back and genuine words of encouragement. He is the first to pitch in and the last to go home. This superstar is a good resource for all things DPA; he is a wealth of knowledge and is considered the Medicaid guru. If you ever need to know anything about Medicaid, especially Transitional Medicaid just call on the T-Man, he will have the answer. One thing many not know about him is he is quite the accomplished date counselor also. Join us in thanking this DPAStar for his great works: DPA Star

And last but most definitely not least, our next megastar brightens any room with her cheerful smile and helpful personality. She is someone that has always met challenges head on - jumping in with both feet and tons of enthusiasm. She is described as a conscientious leader who cares about her staff, co-workers, and the clients we serve. She has earned the respect of those around her through her hard work and dedication. Those who know her agree she is an; intelligent, resourceful, devoted, patient, hardworking leader. She is described as someone who has a positive outlook even in the most frustrating situations. Genuine and personable, she has a way of making people feel comfortable and relaxed. On a personal note, this carefree spirit loves to sing and dance - rumor has it she is earning star status in another love of her life - karaoke. She is also adored for her great cooking skills. She can apparently prepare a killer gourmet Pilipino feast. Please join us in thanking our next DPA superstar for her invaluable contributions to DPA: DPA Star
