How to use this website

Welcome to the new DPAweb intranet website.

We have made several changes to the design and layout of this website to make it easier for DPA staff to access the online resources that are available.

If you are used to using the old DPAweb navigation on the left hand side of the website, we have kept most of the options that were available in the new menu.

The top left section, "Sections" is a new addition that will take visitors to the organizational section they choose. Click on "-more-" to see a full range of sections and units.

The second heading "Employee Resources" contains most of the menu choices from the old DPAweb, such as eForms, Manuals, and Calendars. Click on "-more-" to see a full range of employee resources.Welcome to the new DPAweb intranet website.

If you are used to using the old DPAweb navigation on the left hand side of the website, we have kept most of the options that were available in the new menu.

Sections
The top left section, "Sections" is a new addition that will take visitors to the organizational section they choose. Click on "-more-" to see a full range of sections and units.

Employee Resources
The second heading "Employee Resources" contains most of the menu choices from the old DPAweb, such as eForms, Manuals, and Calendars. Click on "-more-" to see a full range of employee resources.

News Links
The third block, "News" consists of the DPA, DHSS, State, and federal news.

About DPA
The last block on the left is "About DPA." There you will find the mission, employee directory and other information about our organization.

Breaking News
The middle section of the website is dedicated to the latest news from DPA staff and leadership. It is automatically indexed by the website and is fully searchable. That means if you remember reading a news item from several months back, a simple search using the search box at the upper right will help you find what you are looking for.

Quicklinks
The rest of the right side called "Quicklinks" has links of the most commonly used resources that we wanted to only be a click away.

Tips for using DPAweb
#1 If you see a picture of a person next to a story on DPAweb, that usually means they wrote it or it originated from their section. Hover your mouse over the picture and their name will be presented. Use the section links at the left, employee directory, or org chart to learn more about the many faces of DPA.

#2 At the top left of every page in DPAweb are links to the State of Alaska, DHSS, and DPA public websites. On the right are links to DPAweb, Training, Sysops, and DPA Project websites. No matter where you are on DPAweb you can get to any of these sites with one click.

#3 From any DPAweb page, you can get back to the main DPAweb home page by clicking on the big blue DPAweb logo banner at the top of each page, or on the DPAweb link at the very top right of each page.

#4 A Workplace Alaska link can be found in the "Human Resources" box on each page at the middle right. Click on DPA recruitment, then Workplace Alaska. It is also on the Employee Resources page, under "My Info".

#5 Check your retirement account balances, by clicking on "401a/deferred compensation" in the "Human Resources" box on each page at the middle right.

#6 Get NADA car values by clicking on Employee Resources on the left side menu and look under DPA-related links.

#7 There are three ways to lookup a DPA or State employee. In the Quicklinks box on the left side top, you can click on the DPA Org Chart. On the Employee Resources menu on the left side, you can click on "Employee Lookup" for state employees. On the About DPA menu on the left side, you can click on "Employee Directory" which brings up all of the DPA employees by region or section.

#8 Salary Schedules and Labor Contracts can be found in the Human Resources block at the middle right. They can also be found on the Employee Resources page under "DHSS/State of Alaska" links.

#9 A DMA Policy Helpdesk e-mail has been added to the "Quick E-mails" block along with other handy DPA e-mails at the bottom of the right side of the page.

#10 Visit the AJCN Jobs website by clicking on Employee Resources on the left side menu and look under DPA-related links.

#11 Make sure your web browser takes up the full screen or the quicklinks and other right side menus sometimes get pushed to the bottom of the page. Another option is to set your monitor resolution to 1024X768, and there will rarely be these types of problems.
