The purpose of the Heating Assistance Program is to provide assistance to low income households to offset cost of home heating. Heating assistance applications are accepted from September 1 through April 30 of each year.

The Heating Assistance Program also administers and accepts applications year round for the subsidized rental housing utility deposit available to households that need help with the initial utility or fuel deposit required to establish service in Section 8 or subsidized rental housing. The housing program must fully subsidize the household’s home heating costs to be considered for help with a deposit.
