Welcome back Margo!

Please join me in welcoming Margo Nash back to the Division of Public Assistance! She'll be joining the Leadership Team the first of April as the new Operations Support Manager.

Margo has been with DPA since 1975, when she began as an eligibility worker in Ketchikan. Over the years she has supported DPA in many diverse roles, including Southeast Regional Payments Manager, EIS Project Director, and Network Services Manager.

Last year when the Department centralized the IT functions, Margo became part of Finance & Management Services where she took on IT strategic planning for the entire department and many other cross-departmental leadership duties. Throughout all of these roles and all these years years, Margo's reputation has been one of tremendous contribution, capability and compassion. She is someone you can count on to get things done, and she cares deeply for the people in DPA and those we serve.

The Operations Support Manager will be based in Juneau reporting to the Director. In her new role, Margo will ensure that vital services are delivered in support of our operational needs and strategic priorities. With the centralization of the Information Technology, Grants & Contracts, Human Resrouces, Financial, and Communications/Publications functions, our Division needs a strong leader to be our liaison; communicating our needs and providing clear direction on how to work with the service groups to accomplish our objectives. Margo will also manage our division's Strategic Planning efforts, ensuring every team and all of our staff have clear goals and objectives that are connected to our division-wide goals and strategies. Finally, Margo will apply her excellent skills of project management to help us successfully implement cross-organizational projects that require collaboration by many diverse stakeholders.

The 'new' Operations Support Team, to be led by Margo, will consist of the Staff, Training & Development team who are based in Anchorage and who will continue to be supervised by Maria Celli-Miller. In addition, the team will include Claudia Moffet-Cook who will continue efforts to promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning.

So again, let me welcome Margo back to DPA! We look forward to working together to promote self-sufficiency and provide basic benefits to Alaskans in need.
