1013-1          WORK SERVICES MANAGEMENT IN POST-TATemporary Assistance

1013-1 A.      FSSPFamily Self Sufficiency Plan PLANNING

While a client is not required to update their FSSPFamily Self Sufficiency Plan after closing their ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program case, FSSPFamily Self Sufficiency Plans may be helpful in sustaining their self-sufficiency by outlining the steps they will take to continue their progression, see MS 1002.

1013-1 B.      EMPLOYMENT PROGRESSION

Many clients close their ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program case with earnings that are still within or slightly over the ATAP income guidelines. In this case, Post-TATemporary Assistance employment progression can help the client plan for and increase the likelihood of increased hours, promotions, or better jobs that will continue to support their self-sufficiency. The same techniques used to help a client progress while on ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program are valuable during their Post-TATemporary Assistance eligibility.

1013-1 C.      SUPPORTIVE SERVICES

All supportive services categories are available to clients during Post-TATemporary Assistance to assist the client in job retention, advancement, or re-employment during the Post-TATemporary Assistance period. The need must still align with the identified criteria for the service, see MS 1004.

1013-1 D.      APPROPRIATE SERVICE PROVIDER

Work Services providers should contact WSTAWork Services Technical Assistance for assistance in determining the most appropriate service provider when a client relocates between regions while Post-TATemporary Assistance eligible. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
