1001-1          RAPID ENGAGEMENT

Rapid client engagement is required upon referral to Work Services regardless of case status. Clients may be referred in open (OP), pended (PE), received (RE), contact (CO), or any other status other than closed (CL) or denied (DE).  Rapid engagement is defined as completion of an initial employability assessment and (FSSPFamily Self Sufficiency Plan) (WSPM MS 1002) as the final product of the assessment within 30 days of the WSPWork Services Provider's knowledge that the client has applied for ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program even if DPADivision of Public Assistance has not sent an official referral of assignment to the WSPWork Services Provider

While an EA may be completed while the case is in PE or CO status, supportive services cannot be issued until the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program case has opened.  If lack of supportive services prevents the pended adult(s) from participating in family self-sufficiency planning or activities, adjust the FSSPFamily Self Sufficiency Plan accordingly.  WSPWork Services Providers are responsible for verifying that the case is either eligible for ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program or qualifies for post-TA before approving or issuing suportive services.

Clients who reapply after 60 months of ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program should be scheduled for an employability assessment and extension determination immediately upon referral (WSPM MS 1008-4).

CMSCase Management System documentation is required for all attempts at client engagement and re-engagement.
