MANUAL: Alaska Temporary Assistance Program

We are making several changes to clarify existing policy as a result of suggestions from the field.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
MS 711-1 The Temporary Assistance Unit
- Adds information defining types of ANIAdult Not Included cases.
- Clarifies when income, resources, and needs are included in the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program grant and when work services referrals are appropriate for ANIAdult Not Included cases.
- Adds examples.
MS 715-2 Children Age 18
- Replaces the term high school with secondary school to adhere to the definition of a dependent child per the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program state statute.
- Adds a note to define secondary schools.
MS 717-4 C Failures to Complete a Child Support Information Form
- Clarifies when a new Child Support Information Form (Appendix D or 1603) is needed.
MS 720-2 A Seasonal Benefit Reduction Policy
- Updates the note in this subsection to provide guidance on how to process ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program cases that are not subject to the seasonal reduction for two-parent households.
MS 723-1 Good Cause
- Clarifies that a client needs to make a good cause claim before it is applied by the ETEligibility Technician.
- Adds a cross reference to the WSPMWork Services Procedure Manual section 1014-1.
MS 740-2 PASS II Child Care
- Removes all references to the Department of Education and Early Development and replaces them with the Child Care Program Office.
- Adds a link to the PASSParents Achieving Self-Sufficiency II and PASSParents Achieving Self-Sufficiency III child care providers.
MS 754-10 A Equity Value
- Removes the cross reference to TATemporary Assistance MS 752-11 because that manual section no longer exists.
