755-5 PURSUIT OF BENEFITS
If an individual is required to and does apply for a benefit program, the caseworker may presume that the individual is pursuing the benefits unless there is evidence to the contrary. If the caseworker discovers that an individual has not actively pursued benefits for which he or she has applied, the caseworker must investigate to see if there is good cause for this failure. PPJ is used in determining if good cause exists. An exemption from participating in work activities may be good cause for not pursuing UIB .
