722-1          SUITABLE EMPLOYMENT

Suitable employment is any employment that meets the requirements of the Alaska Wage and Hour Act. This act provides for minimum wage and overtime standards for workers at levels consistent with their health, efficiency, and well-being.  Essentially, this means that suitable employment must pay at least Alaska minimum wage, provide for overtime compensation, and not be any more hazardous to the health or well-being of the individual than to the average worker employed in a similar job.
