722            JOB REFUSAL OR JOB QUIT

When a caretaker relative refuses or voluntarily separates from suitable employment without good cause, the entire assistance unit is disqualified.

A caretaker relative refuses suitable employment if he or she voluntarily reduces gross monthly earnings or hours of work.

Such disqualifications terminate a family's Temporary Assistance benefit, and last for a specified period of time. The length of the disqualification period depends on whether or not a disqualification for job refusal or job quit has been previously applied.

Note:

An individual who loses a job because of an action or inaction within that individual's control is considered to have voluntarily separated from suitable employment. This includes individuals who are terminated from their job by an employer because they fail to show up for work.
