600-1 G. QUALITY ASSESSMENT REVIEWS
Each month SNAP cases are randomly selected for review by the Division of Public Assistance, Quality Assessment Section. The purpose of this review is to determine the accuracy of the eligibility determination and allotment.
Households are required to cooperate with Quality Assessment staff.
Refusal to cooperate by any household member results in closure of the SNAP case. The household remains ineligible for SNAP benefits until it cooperates with the Quality Assessment reviewer or until 125 days after the end of the review period. The QA supervisor will notify the caseworker of the household’s ineligibility and /or case closure due to refusal to cooperate with the QA review process. The caseworker must close the case with adverse action.
Failure to cooperate by the household may result in case closure if the household cannot be located or does not respond to notices sent by the QA reviewer or caseworker. The QA supervisor will request the caseworker send a notice for “Special Review of the Case” to be completed by the household. If the household fails to complete the special review the case must be closed with adverse action.
Refer to Administrative Procedures Manual section 113-6.
