This manual change implements the new policy announced by broadcast on June 12 that all AmeriCorps payments are exempt income. This change is effective July 1, 2009.
In addition to other technical changes, the section on allowable absences was revised to explain that an individual remains eligible when out of state for their own illness or that of a family member whether they became ill while out of state or left the state due to illness.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
MS 423-2 B Exceptions For Certain Allowable Absences
Clarifies that a recipient does not have to be out of state when they or a family member becomes ill to remain eligible. If an individual leaves the state due to their own illness or that of a family member and is not able to return within 30 days, they remain eligible for assistance.
MS 426-2 C Interim Blindness or Disability Decision
This section was updated with information about the new GEN 150 IA form.
MS 426-2 E IAR Authorization Requirement
Clarifies which fields must be completed by the caseworker.
MS 442-3 A Volunteer Service Payments
Clarifies that all AmeriCorps payments are exempt income.
