424-2        VERIFICATION OF AGE

 

424-2 A.   BLIND OR DISABLED INDIVIDUALS

 

The case worker does not need to verify the age of a blind or disabled individual unless there is reason to question the individual's own declaration of age.

 

424-2 B.   AGED INDIVIDUALS

 

The case worker must verify the age of all individuals who claim to be at least 65 years old.

 

424-2 C.   AGE VERIFICATION PROCEDURES

 

Section 105-13 A of the Administrative Procedures Manual explains DPADivision of Public Assistance age verification procedures in general.  An additional acceptable source of age verification for the APAAdult Public Assistance program is the Social Security Administration.

 

The case worker may accept oral or written confirmation of a client's date of birth from an office of the Social Security Administration if SSASocial Security Administration indicates that the client's case file contains documentary proof of age.
