124-1          CHILD OR YOUTH TAKEN INTO OCSOffice of Children's Services CUSTODY

124-1 A.      CHILD TAKEN INTO OCSOffice of Children's Services CUSTODY

  1. OCSOffice of Children's Services notifies DOSTDivision Operations Support Team by email that a child is no longer in the home and the effective date. DPADivision of Public Assistance will end the child's Medicaid coverage on the case. 10-day notice of adverse action is required to end the Parent/Caretaker Relative's Medicaid coverage. If the child is the only person on the Medicaid case, DPADivision of Public Assistance will close the case with adequate notice.
  2. OCSOffice of Children's Services registers a Medicaid case for each child, as PI in Full Service Office (FSOField Service Office) 060. The benefit start date would be the 1st day of the month after the effective date of custody.

  1. OCSOffice of Children's Services will email DOSTDivision Operations Support Team that the youth has been taken into custody. DPADivision of Public Assistance will end the youth's Medicaid eligibility with adequate notice.
