116-10        OVERPAYMENTS AND RECOUPMENTS

Active Alaska Temporary Assistance claims will not transfer to an NFAP .  The NFAP organization will use its own internal system to recoup overpayments.

Note:

EIS-user NFAP Agency:

The NFAP worker and the respective DPA worker will work together and develop a method to account for the recouped portion used to correctly determine the SNAP eligibility and benefit amount.

In addition, if a case has been transferred to an NFAP , and an Alaska Temporary Assistance Program error from previous month(s) is discovered, DPA is still responsible for initiating action to correct the error.  The NFAP worker will inform the respective DPA staff of the error.   DPA will follow Alaska Temporary Assistance policy for correcting payments.  Refer to Alaska Temporary Assistance MS 792 for further guidelines.
