MANUAL:  MAGIModified Adjusted Gross Income Medicaid program

We have updated the income standards for the MAGI Medicaid categories that are effected by the change in Federal Poverty Guidelines that is effective April 1, 2026. We have also made several changes to clarify existing policy as a result of policy questions or suggestions from the field. An overview of the changes are listed below.

816-1(B)    Pregnant Women

• Rephrased section to clarify that verification of pregnancy is not required unless multiple babies are expected or pregnancy is questionable.

818    MAGIModified Adjusted Gross Income Medicaid Income 

• Updated dependent tax filing thresholds.

833(C)    Subtypes 

• Updated the income standards due to the Federal Poverty Guidelines change effective April 1, 2026.
