1024               Employment Planning Meeting

The Employment Planning Meeting (EPM) follows the approval of the completed Profile (Parts I, II and III). At this stage the Families First Work Services (FFWS) client is identified as a job seeker. The attendees of the EPM use the job seeker’s Profile as a springboard to translate the description of the job seeker’s contributions, interests and conditions to match with potential employers. Meeting attendees may consist of the Work Services Case Manager (WSCM), Discovery Specialist (DS), the job seeker, the Job Developer (JD), partner agency representatives who are involved with the family and natural supports of the job seeker’s choosing. The WSCM ensures coordination, facilitation and documentation of the Employment Planning Meeting. The meeting is formal and comprehensive and  takes place in a neutral, professional environment. The EPM lasts approximately two and a half hours, or if needed can be separated into two different meetings. The meeting structure follows specific components that lead to matching the job seeker with targeted employers. The goals of the EPM include developing a priority list of business matches, and refining the job seeker’s skills, interests and conditions. From this information a Portfolio is developed to prepare for negotiated job development.
