MANUAL: Alaska Temporary Assistance Program

The Alaska Temporary Assistance Program (ATAP) heating and non-heating utility standards change effective October 2023. The Eligibility Information System (EIS) will automatically apply these new standards when determining eligibility and benefit amounts beginning October 2023.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES

MS 758-6 E      ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program APPLICANTS WITH IAInterim Assistance

• Added section that mirrors APAAdult Public Assistance manual section 426-9 that explains how IAInterim Assistance income is counted for an ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program applicant and what happens to the IAInterim Assistance benefit once ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program is approved.

MS 780-19 G      HOMELESS SHELTER DEDUCTION

• Updated the homeless shelter deduction to $180 for FFYFederal Fiscal Year 2024.

Addendum 1      EXEMPT ALASKA NATIVE VILLAGES

• Updated the exempt Alaska Native villages based on the 2023 DOLDepartment of Labor and Workforce Development employment survey results.

Addendum 2      ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program INCOME AND PAYMENT STANDARDS

• Updated the heating and non-heating utility standards for FFYFederal Fiscal Year 2024.
