ADULT-INCLUDED STANDARDS

 

The following standards are used when the assistance unit includes one caretaker relative or two parents who are both able to perform gainful activity, and any number of dependent children.

 

Note:

Except in two-parent families, no more than one caretaker relative may be included in an assistance unit.

PERSONAL ALLOWANCE DEDUCTIONS FOR DEEMING INCOME

 

The personal allowance deduction for a stepparent, sponsor of an alien, or parent of a minor parent whose income is deemed available to the assistance unit is:

 

  1. $1,132 if the deemor does not have any other dependents in the home for whom he or she receives an allowance; or
  2. The basic adult-included need standard if the deemor is entitled to an allowance for themselves and at least one other dependent in the home. Use the one caretaker relative column in the Adult-Included Need Standards table to determine the appropriate allowance amount.
