790-4 EFFECTIVE DATE OF CHANGES
790-4 A. CHANGES THAT RESULT IN INCREASED BENEFITS
Changes that result in increased benefits are effective the first day of the month following the agency's receipt of the report of change, except:
- If verification is not received within the pend period, the change is effective the first day of the month following receipt of the verification.
- If a client reports a new family member, the new member is added to the case effective the date the agency receives the request to add the new member. Except for newborns, all factors of eligibility must be verified before the new member is added.
- If a family experiences a sudden decrease in their anticipated income, for reasons outside of their control, the caseworker may recalculate the family's anticipated income and benefit amount and issue a supplemental payment for the current calendar month. Such circumstances may result from injury to an employed member of the economic or assistance unit, unanticipated layoffs, or closure of the place of employment.
790-4 B. CHANGES THAT RESULT IN DECREASED BENEFITS OR CASE CLOSURE
Changes that result in decreased benefits or case closure are effective the first day of the month following expiration of the adverse notice period.
