756              FINANCIAL NEED:  INCOME

A family’s eligibility is determined on a calendar month basis.  Income eligibility is determined by considering all the countable income that the family already received and can expect to receive during the calendar month.

Initially, all the incomes of the applying family must be considered, regardless of their sources or types.  In order to be considered as income, money received by the family must be available to meet their needs in the calendar month for which need is being determined.

Except in specific circumstances, cash payment can only be considered as income for one month.  When it is counted as income depends on the day the family actually receives it.  For an employee's income, it does not matter when a paycheck is earned, only when it is received or expected to be received.

Note:

Paycheck advances are counted as income in the month received.
