720              TWO-PARENT TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FAMILIES

This chapter describes policies that only apply to two-parent families in the Alaska Temporary Assistance program.  These families consist of two natural or adoptive parents with at least one common child included in the TATemporary Assistance case.

The policies include a higher payment standard that is allowed for a two-parent family in which one parent is incapacitated and the seasonal benefit reduction that occurs when neither parent is incapacitated. There are special considerations for how the 60 month time limit applies to two-parent families, how the Family Self-Sufficiency Plan (FSSP) is completed, how the number of hours required by each parent to participate in self-sufficiency or work activities is calculated, and how cases are processed when one of the two parents joins or leaves the family.
