We are clarifying that verbal verification of self-employment income and expenses is allowable, although written verification is preferred if available. Verbal verification can be received from collateral contacts or the self-employed individual.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
MS 601 Application Process
Replaces the word "attend" with "participate" to reflect that face to face interviews are no longer required.
MS 601-4 A Verification
In the Direct Data Systems table, replaces the Automatic Status Verification System ( ASVS ) with Verification Information System (VIS). The VIS is the online electronic verification process used by the SAVE Program.
MS 602-1 A Excluded Household
Clarifies that Alaska courts do not expunge drug felony convictions.
MS 602-1 D Citizenship and Eligible Alien Status, Ineligible Alien
Replaces obsolete INS Form G-641, Application for Verification of Information, with INS Form G-845, Document Verification Request.
Corrects references to the Automated Status Verification System ( ASVS ) with Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements ( SAVE ) Program.
MS 602-2 B Exempt Resources
Clarifies that Aleut reparation payments received from a trust established by the Secretary of the Interior are countable resources if retained.
Adds the date Agent Orange settlement payments ended.
MS 602-3 A Earned Income
Adds a link to 605-2 D, Income from Self-Employment.
MS 602-3 D Exempt Income
Clarifies that Aleut reparation payments received from a trust established by the Secretary of the Interior are countable income.
Adds the date Agent Orange settlement payments ended. Also clarifies VA disability payments for diseases related to Agent Orange exposure are not exempt.
MS 603-3 Determining Monthly Allotment
Replaces the word "attend" with "participate" to reflect that face to face interviews are no longer required.
MS 604-2 Recertification
Replaces the word "attend" with "participate" to reflect that face to face interviews are no longer required.
Removes the requirement for a face-to-face interview.
