5185-1        CHANGE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Family Medicaid households are required to report specific changes in the household circumstances that may affect their eligibility.  All changes that a household is required to report must be reported within 10 days of the date the parent or caretaker relative knows of the change.  While a reported change may affect the eligibility of an adult, in most cases children will remain eligible under the continuous eligibility policy in Section 5007.

Applicants and recipients must report if:

  1. They move or get a new mailing address;

  1. A household member moves into or out of the home;

  1. The family gets a vehicle;

  1. Cash on hand and in bank accounts totals $2,000 or more;

  1. Anyone starts or stops a job, has a change in rate of pay or their employment status changes from part-time to full-time or from full-time to part-time;

  1. Anyone starts, stops or has changes in health insurance coverage;

  1. There is a change in unearned income of more than $50; or

  1. There is a change in the amount of child support a member of the household is expected to pay.

The parent, caretaker relative, or another person acting on the family’s behalf may report changes.  Changes may be reported in person, by phone, or in writing.

Reports of change may also come from other sources, such as:
