5220-4         SECOND SIX MONTH ELIGIBILITY PERIOD

In the second six-month period, the requirements of the initial period continue to apply.  Additionally, the household is subject to specific reporting requirements and continuing employment and earnings standards as explained in the following paragraphs:

5220-4 A.   FOURTH MONTH REPORT

By the 21st day of the fourth month, the household must submit a report showing the household's gross monthly earnings, the specified relative's work-related childcare expenses and child support payments for the first, second, and third months.  If the household submits a complete and timely report and continues to meet the requirements of the initial period as given above, their eligibility for Transitional Medicaid coverage continues through the seventh month.

Note:

Eligibility in the seventh month is not dependent on the household's income in the first six month period, but is attained only by submitting the fourth month report.

Failure to submit this report by the 21st of the month without good cause results in loss of eligibility for Transitional Medicaid at the end of the initial six-month period.  Although this report is due during the initial period, the non-receipt of the report will not affect eligibility until the second six-month period.

5220-4 B.   SEVENTH MONTH REPORT

By the 21st day of the seventh month, a report must be submitted reporting and providing verification of the household's gross monthly earnings, the specified relative's work-related child care expenses and child support payments for the fourth, fifth, and sixth months.  Failure to submit this report by the 21st of the month without good cause results in loss of eligibility for Transitional Medicaid.

In addition to timely submission of a complete report, the household must meet the following three requirements to remain eligible for Transitional Medicaid in the eighth, ninth, and tenth months:

  1. The same requirements noted above for the initial six month period; and

  2. A specified relative remained employed during the fourth, fifth, and sixth months, unless there was good cause for loss of the employment (see DEFINITIONS); and

  3. The average household's gross monthly earnings, less allowable child care expenses and child support payments during the fourth, fifth, and sixth months, do not exceed 185% of Alaska's Federal Poverty level.  See Addendum - 2.

5220-4 C.   TENTH MONTH REPORT

By the 21st day of the tenth month, a report must be received reporting and providing verification of the household's gross earnings, the specified relative's work-related child care expenses and child support payments for the seventh, eighth, and ninth months.  Failure to submit this report by the 21st of the month without good cause results in loss of eligibility for Transitional Medicaid coverage.

The household must meet the following three requirements to remain eligible for Transitional Medicaid in the eleventh and twelfth months:

  1. The same requirements noted above for the initial 6 month period; and

  2. A specified relative remained employed during the seventh, eighth, and ninth months, unless there was good cause for loss of the employment (see DEFINITIONS); and

  3. The average household's gross monthly earnings, less allowable child care expenses and child support payments during the seventh, eighth, and ninth months, do not exceed 185% of Alaska's Federal Poverty level.  See Addendum - 2.
