We are making several changes to clarify existing policy as a result of suggestions from the field.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGE

MS 940-4  Determining Monthly Net Income

• Clarifies policy to indicate that if income is equal to or higher than the need standard, the applicant is not eligible for CAMAChronic and Acute Medical Assistance.  Policy previously stated that the applicant is eligible if the income does not exceed the need standard.

MS 960-2  Reviews

• Clarifies that if the MED 33 is received in the month following case closure, it can be used as an initial application.

• Clarifies that if the MED 33 is received after the month following case closure, a GEN 50b is required.  However, the MED 33 will be accepted to protect the benefit start date.
