As a result of extensive work by the CANO Revision Workgroup, Chapter 109, Case Note Documentation, has been rewritten.  This change includes several new addenda in order to provide a CANO desk guide, examples of CANOs, and a new commonly used acronym list.  The changes were previously announced by broadcast on July 17 and are effective August 1.

In addition to the CANO chapter, this manual change updates the procedure for verifying an applicant’s immigration status using the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Program which includes information on:

1. • Navigating the enhanced and improved web-based system

   • Submitting an initial verification

   • Requesting additional verification

   • Submitting information on I-94 Forms as additional verification

   • Completing and using the G-845 form

This information was previously provided by broadcast on July 20 and took effect July 27.
