422-2        MEDICAID REQUIREMENTS

A Social Security number is an eligibility requirement for Medicaid.  To be eligible for Medicaid, an individual must either provide a Social Security number or show that he or she has applied for one.

If an individual does not provide a Social Security number or show that he or she has applied for one, eligibility for Medicaid does not exist.  However, the individual may be eligible to receive cash-only benefits from the APAAdult Public Assistance program.
