124-4 CHILDREN IN CUSTODY FOUND ELIGIBLE FOR HCBHome and Community Based WAIVER SERVICES
Due to the complexity and specialization of this caseload, the Long Term Care (LTCLong Term Care) caseworkers have statewide access and are able to access and update cases in any Full Service Office.
HCBHome and Community Based Waiver cases are generally MEMedicaid-ADAid to the Disabled cases and not MEMedicaid-AFAid to Families with Dependent Children case.
- The OCSOffice of Children's Services eligibility technician will maintain the Medicaid case in FSOField Service Office 060.
- When DSDSDivision of Senior and Disabilities Services notifies the appropriate DPADivision of Public Assistance LTCLong Term Care team or caseworker of a waiver start, the caseworker will register a separate case number and, when necessary, pend the case and send notice for the needed waiver information such as a MED 3Declaration/Denial of Asset Transfer Form or information from DDSDisability Determination Service.
- When DSDSDivision of Senior and Disabilities Services notifies DPADivision of Public Assistance of the waiver approval, the LTCLong Term Care caseworker will enter the appropriate waiver codes on the 060 case number and authorize MEMC coupons for past months.
- The LTCLong Term Care caseworker will CANOCase Notes the actions on both on 060 case and the LTCLong Term Care case.
- The LTCLong Term Care caseworker will close the waiver case.
- The LTCLong Term Care caseworker will email the OCSOffice of Children's Services eligibility technician regarding what actions were taken.
- The OCSOffice of Children's Services eligibility technician maintains the case.
- If a child loses waiver eligibility, the LTCLong Term Care caseworker will access the 060 number, take the appropriate actions, and send the adverse action notice on the 060 number.
