124-4     CHILDREN IN CUSTODY FOUND ELIGIBLE FOR HCB WAIVER SERVICES

Due to the complexity and specialization of this caseload the Long Term Care (LTC) caseworkers have statewide access and are able to access and update cases in any Full Service Office.

HCB Waiver cases are generally ME-AD cases and not ME-AF cases.

  1. The OCS eligibility technician will maintain the Medicaid case in FSO 060.

  2. When DSDS notifies the appropriate DPA LTC team or caseworker of a waiver start, the caseworker will register a separate case number and, when necessary, pend the case and send notice for the needed waiver information such as a MED 3 or information from DDS .

  3. When DSDS notifies DPA of the waiver approval the LTC caseworker will enter the appropriate waiver codes on the 060 case number and authorize MEMC coupons for past months.

  4. The OCS eligibility technician maintains the case.

  5. If a child loses waiver eligibility the LTC caseworker will access the 060 number, take the appropriate actions, and send the adverse action notice on the 060 number.
