116-10         OVERPAYMENTS AND RECOUPMENTS

Active Alaska Temporary Assistance claims will not transfer to an NFAPNative Family Assistance Program. The NFAPNative Family Assistance Program organization will use its own internal system to recoup overpayments.

Note:

EIS-user NFAPNative Family Assistance Program Agency:

The NFAPNative Family Assistance Program worker and the respective DPADivision of Public Assistance worker will work together and develop a method to account for the recouped portion used to correctly determine the SNAPSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program eligibility and benefit amount.

In addition, if a case has been transferred to an NFAPNative Family Assistance Program, and an Alaska Temporary Assistance Program error from previous month(s) is discovered, DPADivision of Public Assistance is still responsible for initiating action to correct the error. The NFAPNative Family Assistance Program worker will inform the respective DPADivision of Public Assistance staff of the error. DPADivision of Public Assistance will follow Alaska Temporary Assistance policy for correcting payments. Refer to Alaska Temporary Assistance MS 792 for further guidelines.
