111-10          OVERPAID CLAIMS AND REFUNDS

If a household overpays a SNAPSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program claim, DPADivision of Public Assistance must issue a refund for that amount as soon as possible. A warrant or check will be issued to the household. Refunds will not be paid if the claims were expunged.

111-10 A.      REFUND MORE THAN $10

When a claim payment exceeds the outstanding balance of all claims by $10.00, a refund will be issued to the client and mailed to the last known address of the client.

111-10 B.      REFUND LESS THAN $10

When a claim payment exceeds the outstanding balance of all claims by less than $10.00, a refund will not be issued. The excess amount is credited to the original claim and the claim is closed as paid in full.
