102-1          PURPOSES OF INTERVIEW

The interview is conducted to:

1. Explain the applicant's rights and responsibilities;

2. Complete the application and all related forms;

3. Assist the applicant in understanding the eligibility requirements;

4. Assist the applicant in identifying and obtaining verification required by the programs;

5. Answer the applicant's questions about the Division and its programs;

6. Explore the facts of the household's situation to:

• Identify and resolve any questionable information;

• Identify all DPA Division of Public Assistance programs for which the household might qualify; and

• Refer the applicant to other public and private agencies that can assist him or her in meeting needs not met by DPA Division of Public Assistance programs.
