The goal of Work Services is to assist clients to increase self-sufficiency.  

1000-3 A.      PROGRAM DEFINITION OF SELF-SUFFICIENCY

• An ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program household achieves a level of earnings that exceeds the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program income and payment standards, see ATAP Addendum 2; or,
• An ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program household voluntarily closes their case with earnings; or,
• An ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program client is approved for Social Security benefits.

1000-3 B.      EXIT PLANNING STARTS AT INTAKE

• Every interaction with your client should be focused on achieving a permanent exit from ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program.
