1026-3 PHOTOGRAPHS
The Portfolio is considered a visual representation of the client/job seeker’s contributions and interests. It “demonstrates” through words and pictures the best of what the client/job seeker offers a potential employer. The DS is responsible for taking photos during the course of Discovery. Photos are taken and selected for the Portfolio to convey and confirm contributions and interests of the client/job seeker for presentation to a potential employer. All photos should show the client/job seeker involved in activity in which they are considered working at their best. Other photos may serve a different purpose, such as photos as examples of skills in arts and crafts, or awards and trophies.
Note:
Some clients/job seekers will prefer to not be photographed. In
this case, alternate images can be used to enhance the Portfolio. For
example, images can be downloaded from the internet that depicts tasks/actions.
Photos are taken by the DS during home visits, and observation of Discovery activities. Photos may focus on family or client routines carried out at home that demonstrate high interest, skill, talent and competency of the client/participant.
The DS may take photos during community observations, in which the client/participant is engaged in activities that represent work tasks, or transferrable skills.
Personality can be captured by the DS in any photo taken during a home or community activity.
Documentation of examples of achievement are conveyed by the DS ’ photos of objects or items in the client/participant’s possession, or as displayed in the home setting (i.e., yearbook, certificates/awards, art).
Note:
See Portfolio training materials for additional detail and tips for Portfolio
photos.
