As a result of feedback from the field, we have made a few changes to the Temporary Assistance manual to further clarify when staff should verify shelter deductions. As always, we appreciate your input and strive to improve our manuals and policies to help those in the field.
Other changes are either technical in nature or clarifications that are the result of policy questions or suggestions from the field.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
MS 700-4 A Verification Requirements
Clarifies that shelter costs are only verified if questionable.
Reorganizes into three sections: items that must be verified to determine eligibility for TA, items that must be verified to determine the benefit amount, and items that must be verified if questionable.
MS 780-19 D Shared Shelter Costs
Clarifies that shared shelter costs only need to be verified if questionable.
MS 790-1 Change Reporting Requirements
Clarifies that when a household reports a change in shelter it only needs to be verified if questionable.
