If APAAdult Public Assistance or SSISupplemental Security Income eligibility is expected or has been established but no payments are being received by a Temporary Assistance household member, eligibility regarding resources is determined using normal policies and procedures. The resources of the potential APAAdult Public Assistance / SSISupplemental Security Income member will be determined as available to the TATemporary Assistance household under normal policies.

When the caseworker gets notification that SSISupplemental Security Income or APAAdult Public Assistance (not Interim Assistance) payments have begun for a Temporary Assistance household member, eligibility regarding resources must be immediately redetermined. Exclude all the APAAdult Public Assistance / SSISupplemental Security Income recipient's resources from the assistance unit's resources. It may be necessary to contact the SSISupplemental Security Income District Office to discover what resources they consider available to the SSISupplemental Security Income applicant.

In most cases, the only resources that will be of concern in determining ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program eligibility will be those that are available, not exempt, and jointly owned by the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program applicant or recipient and the APAAdult Public Assistance / SSISupplemental Security Income recipient. In such cases, the equity value of the resource is prorated.
