740 WORK: POST-TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Although finding a job is a crucial step toward self-sufficiency, staying employed is just as important. Many newly employed ATAP recipients struggle with the challenges of employment. Nationally, more than one-third of families who leave public assistance due to employment return within a year.
Job retention services have proven an effective means of helping people who find a job to retain it and to remain off of assistance. These services include:
Extended case management and supportive services;
PASS II Child Care; and
Other public assistance programs.
Eligibility for each of these services must be considered separately since each service has different eligibility requirements.
