717-3         HOW A PARENT OR CARETAKER RELATIVE COOPERATES WITH CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISION

 

A caretaker relative cooperates with CSSDChild Support Services Division by:

  1. Completing and signing the Child Support Form (GEN 53) for each noncustodial parent not living in the home of the dependent child;

Details provided on the GEN 53Child Support Information Form are used to enter information into EISEligibility Information System. DPADivision of Public Assistance is no longer required to forward a copy of this form to CSSDChild Support Services Division. It should be kept in the case file.

  1. Helping to identify and locate the noncustodial parent of each dependent child included in the assistance unit;

  1. Appearing at a CSSDChild Support Services Division office when requested to provide information or evidence relevant to the case;

  1. Appearing as a witness in a court or other proceeding;

  1. Providing information or attesting to lack of information under penalty of perjury or unsworn falsification;

  1. Signing over to CSSDChild Support Services Division any child support payments for months of ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program benefits paid by, or on behalf of, the noncustodial parent; and

  1. Taking any other reasonable steps to assist in establishing paternity and securing child support payments.

If the parent or caretaker relative fail to cooperate with CSSDChild Support Services Division in any of these ways and does not establish good cause for not cooperating, a financial penalty will be imposed and a protective payee selected to receive the ATAPAlaska Temporary Assistance Program benefit payment.
