705-1          ELIGIBILITY IN ONE FAMILY

An individual may only be determined eligible as a member of one family at a time in any given month.

705-1 A.     FAMILIES LIVING TOGETHER

If an application is received from a person who resides with someone else who is already receiving TATemporary Assistance, the application may be processed and eligibility determined as with any other case, if the applicant and/or the children for whom he is applying are not included in the existing case as mandatory filing unit members.

705-1 B.     APPLYING CHILDREN

Applying children who are not part of a mandatory filing unit are normally added to the existing TATemporary Assistance unit if the caretaker relative in that case applies for benefits for them and is a caretaker relative to them.

705-1 C.     APPLYING ADULTS

When adult relatives are living together, each with his or her own dependent children, it may be possible to have two or more assistance units in the one household, provided eligibility exists for each unit.
