600-1 E.     DISCLOSURE AND USE OF INFORMATION

 

The DPA Division of Public Assistance restricts the disclosure and use of information obtained from food stamp households to:

 

  1. Persons directly connected with the administration or enforcement of the Food Stamp Program.

 

  1. Employees of other federal assistance or federally assisted State means-tested programs for low-income individuals such as TANF Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, ATAP Alaska Temporary Assistance Program, Medicaid, SSI Supplemental Security Income and the School Meal Program.

 

  1. Employees of the Comptroller General’s Office for audit examination.

 

  1. Officials of local, State, or federal law enforcement agencies to investigate alleged violations of the Food Stamp Program, if a written request is provided.   If the officer provides the name and says the person is fleeing to avoid prosecution, custody, or confinement for a felony, is violating a condition of parole or probation, or has information related to a felony parole violation, we will provide the address, Social Security number and photograph of the household member.

 

  1. Persons directly connected with administration or enforcement of the State Title IV-D, Parent Locator Service (PLS) for Child Support Services Division (CSSD Child Support Services Division).

 

  1. Employees of the State Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Benefit (UIB Unemployment Insurance Benefit) Unit.

 

  1. The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) when DPA Division of Public Assistance verifies alien documentation through INS.  See MS 602-1D.
