MANUAL: Family Medicaid (MAGI) program
DATE: December 1, 2015
Alaska is implementing the e-14 waiver to assist with MAGI Medicaid renewals. Highlights of the policy revision is described below.
The Parent Caretaker/Relative and Under 21 Medicaid category income standards are adjusted annually on January 1 to correspond with the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), administered by the Social Security Administration. There is not a COLA change for 2016, so these income standards will not change.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES
5005-6 E Withdrawing an application
Removed paragraph stating that if an individual withdraws an application in writing, DPA must reinstate the application if requested by the individual within 90 days of the application filing date. Starting November 1, 2015, Alaska is a determination state with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace. Due to this change, this section no longer applies. This policy change was updated in the previous manual change in section 5005 and is now being updated in this section.
5005-7 D Renewals Based on SNAP Eligibility
Added policy approved by an e-14 waiver allowing Alaska to renew MAGI Medicaid for 12 months using the income calculated when the Food Stamp recertification is approved.
