MANUAL:  Family Medicaid Eligibility Manual

Each year the Family Medicaid standards are adjusted by the same percentage as the COLA Cost of Living Allowance  increase in Social Security benefits.  This year the COLA Cost of Living Allowance increase is 2.3%.  We have incorporated the 2008 standards, which become effective with the benefit month of January 2008.  We have also added references to federal and state laws and regulations governing the Medicaid program.  Technical changes to the index are also included.

OVERVIEW OF CHANGES

MS 5000-1  History of Medicaid

• Adds references to federal and state laws and regulations governing the Medicaid program.

MS 5011-2A  Acceptable Documentation

• Clarifies that identification is required when a data match or interface is used for verification of citizenship.

• Adds Permanent Fund Dividend interface in Level Two acceptable documentation.

Addendum 2  Family Medicaid Income Standards

• Updates program standards to reflect the COLA Cost of Living Allowance changes for 2008.
