124-2 CHILD RECEIVING DKC TAKEN INTO OCS CUSTODY
The OCS eligibility technician contacts the DKC team or caseworker, via email, that the child has been taken into custody. If additional children remain in the home, the DKC worker will code the custody child out (OU ) of the DKC case. If there are no remaining eligible children in the DKC case, the caseworker will close the DKC case giving timely notice of adverse action.
The OCS eligibility technician registers a Medicaid case for each child, with the child as PI in Full Service Office 060. The benefit start date is the 1st day of the month after the last paid Medicaid benefit on the DKC case.
If the child is released from custody the OCS eligibility technician will close the 060 Medicaid case, giving timely notice of adverse action, and notify the appropriate DKC office to resume the DKC 072 case.
This is an electronic transfer and there will be no physical transferring or copying of DPA files or Title IV-E files.
DKC caseworkers are not required to obtain birth certificates or other forms of identification so there would be no relevant information in the physical DKC file that would need to be transferred to the OCS eligibility technician.
All pertinent information from a DKC case would be maintained in the Case Notes and the OCS eligibility technician would be held to the same requirement.
