452-9        REFUSE CASH CASES

Upon written and signed request, an eligible applicant or recipient may refuse to accept all or part of any APAAdult Public Assistance payment to which he or she is entitled.  Refusal of APAAdult Public Assistance cash assistance does not affect eligibility for Medicaid.  Refuse Cash APAAdult Public Assistance cases are established and maintained as "0" grant, Medicaid eligible cases.

The recipient may withdraw his or her request to refuse cash at any time.  The request to restore the APAAdult Public Assistance cash assistance may be made either orally or in writing.  The APAAdult Public Assistance payment will be restored effective the first day of the month in which the client's request to restore the APAAdult Public Assistance payment is received.
