128-1          FOREIGN NATIONAL NOTIFICATION PROGRAM

 

The United States, along with many other countries, has agreed (under the provisions of Article 37 of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consulate Relations) to promptly notify foreign consular officials when it is learned that foreign nationals of their country have either died or become incapacitated while in this country. Other agreements require similar notification in cases of decedents' estates in which foreign nationals are heirs or may otherwise have an interest.

 

DPADivision of Public Assistance will promptly notify the appropriate embassy or consulate when it is discovered that a foreign national has:

 

 

All such notifications must be tubed to the Cash Assistance Unit (HPACASH) in Central office. The information must include the following:
